Mayor's Citizen Service Center From potholes, abandoned
vehicles, high weeds on vacant lots, and curbside trash
to faulty traffic signals and derelict and abandoned homes, the
Online Support Center makes it easy to submit service requests
online.

National
Night Out 2008
Tuesday August 5th.
National Night Out is a great time to get to know your neighbors. The CYCA has
worked for over 30 years to help make our community a safe place to live, work,
worship, and play. Over 20 parties will be held throughout Cooper-Young this
year. Many of these parties will be hosted by block clubs or individuals who
want to help make our neighborhood safer. The CYCA is offering up to $50
reimbursement for supplies to party hosts who sign up with Robert Grisham, our
block club chairman. Target, who is the corporate sponsor for National Night
Out, is donating one $20 gift card per party to be raffled off. Neighbors will
be asked to sign the roster sheet at each party and pick up a raffle ticket. At
some point in the evening, the party hosts will draw a winner!

Join us for the 17th annual Cooper-Young Festival 4-miler Race! Run through the
streets of Cooper-Young and see many of the sites that makes Cooper-Young a
destination! This event raises funds for the Cooper-Young Community Association
(CYCA) and supports the neighborhood associations efforts in making Cooper-Young
a better place to live, work, worship, play.
The race begins and ends at the Trestle Art on Cooper Street and the post race
party is in the Bluff City Sports parking lot at 769 S. Cooper.
New exciting race route which starts off the first half mile directly down
Cooper Street! Dri balance long sleeve no cuff shirts will be offered again
this year with great artwork from a local Cooper-Young artist Lizi Beard Ward!
Post race party has been re-organized to allow for additional room for our
growing race! Post race band will be playing and awards for runners will be
passed out after the race!
Along the route, there will be many Cooper-Youngians cheering you on in their
front yard!
Chip Timing this year! This year we are offering the option to be chip
timed. In addition to the normal registration, chip timing will cost an extra
$5. Full registration with chip timing will be $25 for each participant. Note
that if you do not select this option, the 4-miler is considered a "fun run" and
you will not be timed. Only runners that are chip timed will be eligible to win
awards (for first through third place, and overall awards). We realize that
many people enjoy the Cooper-young Festival 4-miler as a simple fun run and
wanted to offer them a reduced rate. After September 10th there is an
additional $5 fee for each race entry so enter early!
Although we really love pets, we have to ask you not to bring your pets with you
during the run for liability reasons.
